Police: Pursuit of stolen vehicle ends in a crash

BLUE ASH, OH (FOX19) -

Police have charged a man for leading officers on a chase in a stolen vehicle that ended with the suspect crashing the car near the Great American Tower.

According to the Blue Ash PD, officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop of a stolen vehicle in the southbound lanes of I-71 near the Montgomery Road exit. Christian Overmyer, 20, continued southbound on I-71 until exiting at Third Street in downtown Cincinnati. That is where police said Overmyer crashed the car. 

Overmyer, from Fremont, Ohio, is charged was charged with receiving stolen property and failing to comply with lawful order. He is currently being held in the Hamilton County Jail.

Police said the three passengers are not charged in the incident.

The stolen car is described as tan 2000 Buick Park Avenue. The Buick had been reported stolen in Green Springs, Ohio in Seneca County earlier Wednesday.
