BOONE COUNTY, KY (FOX19) -

A Union, Ky man was arrested Thursday and accused of sexually molesting a child while caring for the child in his home.

According to Boone County Sheriff's spokesman Tom Scheben, the child was allegedly molested sometime between Jan. 1 and Feb. 25. The accused, 57-year-old Ronald (Jeff) Morris, was entrusted to care for the child in his home at the time.

Officials say that the child's parents notified the Boone County Sheriff's Office of their suspicions on Feb. 28 after their child made a disturbing disclosure concerning the accused adult.

Sheriff's Detective Bruce McVay conducted an investigation which culminated with obtaining an arrest warrant Morris at his home in the 10000 block of Masters Drive.

Morris was charged with first degree sodomy and is being held in the Boone County Detention Center on a $200,000 bond.
