New York, NY (FOX19) - Xavier hit just one field goal in the final 13 minutes and 25 seconds of regulation, but held on to beat No. 23 Georgetown 65-63 in the Big East Conference Semifinals.

Dee Davis' layup gave the Musketeers a 49-28 lead with 13:25 to play. Leading by 20 with eight minutes left, a technical foul by Jalen Reynolds completely changed the complexion of a game that was turning into a blowout.

Georgetown would use a 24-6 run over the next seven and a half minutes to trail 59-57 with 24 seconds to play. The Muskies did all they could to help the Hoyas climb back into the game missing 12 of their 31 free throws, but they hit the ones that mattered in the final ten seconds of regulation, making five of six from the charity stripe.

Matt Stainbrook paced the Muskies with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Remy Abell added 10 points. Jabril Trawick led Georgetown with 19 points.

Xavier now has a program record six wins over top 25 teams this season. The Muskies will face No. 4 Villanova in the conference championship Saturday at 8 p.m.
