Officials investigate call of distressed persons in canoe

OHIO COUNTY, IND (FOX19) -

Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a call of distressed persons in a canoe in the Ohio River.

Officials say a called was received by the Ohio County Dispatchers for two individuals in a blue canoe in the Ohio River.  

According to authorities, at approximately 7:45 p.m., Indiana Conservation Officers, as well as several county and city emergency personnel responded to the call and began searching for area for the blue canoe that was reportedly occupied by two people. 

Officials said that at approximately 12:30 a.m., searchers located the blue canoe matching the description fo the call just downstream from the original given location.
