Ohio River is now below flood stage at 51.9 feet; flood warning has been canceled.

The Ohio River finally fell below flood stage Thursday morning after the worst flooding in years soaked communities along Cincinnati's East Side and in Northern Kentucky. 

The river stands at 51.9 feet as of 8 a.m.

More rain is expected today. A 30 percent chance for showers throughout the day jumps to a 90 percent chance by Thursday night.

The high temperature will peak at 51 degrees.

The low Thursday night should only slip to 40.

More rain is likely before 10 a.m. Friday. Otherwise, it will be cloudy with a high near 53.

Spring officially arrives at 6:45 p.m. 

The Ohio River crested Sunday morning just under 58 feet with the flood stage at 52 feet, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Previously, the river rose to 58.6 feet in March 1979 and 64.7 feet on March 5, 1997.
