An alleged drunk driver plowed through an OVI checkpoint Friday night before leading police on a chase that ended in a crash.

Harlan Logan, 34, sped away from the OVI checkpoint when officers signaled him to stop, according to Norwood Police. It happened around 11:20 p.m. at Montgomery Road near Hudson Avenue.

Logan crawled out of the passenger window after losing control and overturning the 2005 Chevrolet Blazer, officials say. He fled on foot and troopers caught up with him a short time later.

Logan is charged with failure to comply, operating a vehicle under the influence, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and reckless operation.

No injuries were reported in the incident and it remains under investigation.
