EVANSTON, OH (FOX19) -

An Evanston landlord is facing multiple lead paint violations Monday.

Court documents show 36-year-old, Frederick Whatley, did not take care of dangerous lead paint in his multi-family home on Spokane Ave. near Huron Ave. The documents also show small children in the home had access to loose and flaking paint.

According to Cincinnati Children's Hospital, lead poisoning can cause damage to the nervous system, slowed growth, learning problems and hearing difficulties.

Whatley was charged on two counts of lead paint violation and failure to abate lead paint. He also was charged with an unrelated charge of domestic violence.
