BOND HILL, OH (FOX19) -
Police are searching for Lawrence Dangerfield, 51, who allegedly struck and killed a 17-year-old girl in Bond Hill in January.
Dangerfield is charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, vehicular homicide and failure to stop after an accident.
Asia Denson was crossing the intersection of Reading Road and Avonlea Avenue late on the evening of Jan. 18, when she was hit by a vehicle traveling northbound, according to police.
Denson was later pronounced dead after being taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Police say witnesses described the vehicle that hit Denson as a silver BMW with heavy front damage. Investigators found a license plate on scene. The car was registered to Dangerfield's wife. Police went to their home and found Dangerfield.
Dangerfield was arrested for unrelated charges, however he soon got out of jail, leaving police combing through evidence to charge him with the crime. Police say they gathered witnesses' testimony and forensic evidence from the vehicle.
“When we finally got it all together we took it to the Hamilton County Common Pleas Court and the grand jury indicted Mr. Dangerfield,” said Lt. Bruce Hoffbauer, CPD's Traffic Section Commander.
Dangerfield's whereabouts is unknown. Police are asking for your help if you when where he is. Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward. Call 513-352-3040.
