KENTUCKY (FOX19) -

The Kentucky House of Representatives passed legislation Tuesday requiring repeat OVI offenders to install a device that would test the operator's breath before allowing the engine to start.

House Bill 133 will now head to Governor Steve Beshear's desk.

The legislation states first time OVI offenders will be required to install the interlock device only if there are aggravating circumstances. Some circumstances include having a child in the car, driving 30 miles over the speed limit or causing injury to another individual.

The interlock devices would be paid for by the offender.

The bill previously passed the Kentucky Senate.
