OVER THE RHINE, OH (FOX19) - In just a few hours, Cincinnati City Council will take up the new parking plan that was approved earlier this week by the Cincinnati City Council Neighborhood Committee.

If approved at 2 p.m., the measure could bring some big changes to this neighborhood, including street parking reserved for people who live there.

There will be 402 residential permit spaces. Residents would buy permits at an $108 annual cost to park on the street. Those who are rent-subsidized pay just $18.

The plan also calls for 199 "flex spaces," or parking that will be free to any who wish to use it, mostly on the western side of OTR and Liberty Street.

The remaining approximately  646 spots would be metered, but meter prices could be increased from $1 per hour to $1, with the additional funds going to the streetcar project.

FOX19 NOW will be at the meeting and will update this story as information develops.
