New housing and commercial development in OTR

Over the Rhine residents may see brand new residential and business development taking shape in coming months.

According to the OTR Community Council, 3CDC has plans to build and redevelop 2 acres of property at the intersection of 15th and Race Streets.

It will be the nonprofit developer's second-largest project in the area.

Below is a look at the plan which includes 61 housing units, additional parking in the area and 37,500 square feet of commercial retail.

3CDC has made several changes in an attempt to meet the concerns of neighborhood activists in Over-the-Rhine.

Below is a projected timeline for the project, which is along the streetcar route.

15th and Republic Streets Project Timeline :

  • OTR Committee Meeting - March 2015
  • HTC Board Approval Request - April 2015
  • Construction Permit - June 2015
  • Start Construction - July 2015
  • Construction Completion - Summer 2016

3CDC has presented the plan to the Over-the-Rhine Community Council Board and will present to the full council on Monday.

Since 2004, over $831 million has been invested in redevelopment and new construction projects in downtown Cincinnati and Over-the-Rhine.

3CDC projects support our four strategic goals to create great civic spaces, create high density mixed-use development, preserve historic structures and streetscapes and build diverse mixed-income neighborhoods supported by local businesses.
