WALNUT HILLS (FOX19) - A 28-year-old man died and an innocent bystander was wounded in a double shooting on Oak Street near Gilbert Avenue Tuesday night, Cincinnati police said.

Melvin Campbell was taken to University of Cincinnati Hospital Medical Center and pronounced dead shortly after shots rang out about 7 p.m., said Homicide Sgt. Jeff Gramke.

A second man, who in his 40s, was shot while getting into a car across the street. A preliminary investigation indicates he was not involved in the incident and simply was in the wrong place at the wrong time, Gramke said.

The victim's name was not released. He is expected to recover.

No arrests have been made while an investigation continues.
