WESTWOOD, OH (FOX19) -

A 61-year-old man was shot in his right eye at Candlewood Apartments on Harrison Avenue early Wednesday, Cincinnati police said.

"He was in an apartment when a young male who was drinking stood up and shot him in the face for no reason," said Lt. Tim Brown, the night chief.

The gunman fled the scene and remains at large. So did any potential witnesses, Brown said.

The victim knocked on a neighbor's door for help and was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He is expected to recover.

No arrests have been made while police continue to investigate.
