Recipe: Classic basil pesto

Basil adds bold flavor to salads, pastas, sandwiches and more.

Former MasterChef contestant Stephanie Syfax shares her recipe for versatile and classic basil pesto.


2 cups fresh Basil

3/4 cup olive oil

1/4 cup roasted almonds

1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

2 garlic cloves

Splash of seasoned rice vinegar

salt and pepper, to taste


In a food processor, pulse the whole almonds and garlic cloves until all are ground well. Add basil, Parmesan and pulse together until well incorporated, but don't over mix. Drizzle in olive oil and aste for seasoning. Add additional olive oil if needed.
