Breaking: 1 of 3 teens shot at Melrose YMCA dies

One of the three teenagers shot during a 'Sweet 16' birthday party at the Melrose YMCA over the weekend has died, Cincinnati police said.

The victim was pronounced dead about 12:30 a.m. Monday at University of Cincinnati Medical Center, said Sgt. Jeff Gramke of the Homicide Unit.

No arrests have been made while police continue to investigate.

The victim's name and age will be released later Monday morning.

At least two people, possibly more, started shooting once the celebration ended about 11:30 p.m. Saturday on Melrose Avenue and William Howard Taft Road.

"It sounded like it was just a party and then it closed and there were just a bunch of fights going on (outside)," Gramke said.

The Melrose YMCA is closed Monday.
