Reds fans and community leaders are gearing up for the annual "Opening Night" festivities at Great American Ballpark. The tradition has become a marquee event for the franchise.

Beginning at 5:30 p.m., Reds players will walk the red carpet in the Kroger Fan Zone before the game. The celebration includes live music from The Rusty Griswolds and a post-game fireworks show. The first 20,000 fans inside the park will also receive a team calendar.

Special guests at the game tonight include The Ohio State University Head Coach Urban Meyer and the 2014 National Champion Buckeyes. The team will accept first ever Reds Country Athletic Achievement Award, and just before the game, head coach Meyer and players will offer up simultaneous ceremonial first pitches.

The game against the Pittsburgh Pirates starts at 7:10 p.m.

The Buckeyes will also walk the "Reds Carpet" during first inning of the game.
