The mom accused of starving, torturing and beating her 2-year-old daughter to death pleaded not guilty in a Hamilton County courtroom Wednesday.

Andrea Bradley, 28, of East Walnut Hills was ordered held without bond at the Hamilton County jail.

Her brief court appearance Wednesday echoed one Monday by Glen Bates, 32, who also is charged in the torture death of their daughter, 2-year-old Glenara Bates.

The toddler, who only weighed 13 pounds when she died, slept in a bathtub filled with feces and blood, Hamilton County prosecutors said in court.

Glenara had bite marks, bruises, belt marks and broken teeth when Bradley took her to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in March. The child was pronounced dead on arrival. Bradley admitted to trying to sew up her daughter's severely cut head.

Hamilton County prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty for both parents if they are convicted.

Bradley has extensive history with the county's Jobs and Family Services, including multiple abuse allegations. The woman had custody of five children and was pregnant when Glenara died.

Jobs and Family Services admitted a preliminary review shows policy and procedural failures in Bradley's case. They are conducting an investigation into their casework procedures.
