An Amber Alert issued early Thursday for a 5-year-old Kentucky girl abducted by her mother's boyfriend was canceled just before 8 a.m.
Aubrey Johnson is safe at Bowling Green police headquarters, police said.
The youngster was last seen about 2:30 a.m. in a silver Ford Expedition sport utility vehicle after her mother argued with Rique R'Griffin, 21, while traveling down Morgantown Road.
Griffin assaulted the woman drove off with her daughter, according to police.
A photo of the child was never released.
It's not clear if charges will be filed while police continue to investigate.
