UPDATE: $5 million bond set for Fairfield murder suspect

FAIRFIELD, OH (FOX19) - An unusually high bond of $5 million was set Tuesday for the 29-year-old man accused of killing a woman in Fairfield.

Michael Jason Miller returns to Fairfield Municipal Court for a preliminary hearing April 30.

Carol Boyd, 58, was found unresponsive in her apartment Saturday. Medics transported her to Mercy Hospital Fairfield, where she was pronounced dead.

Boyd's death was ruled as suspicious, and Miller was arrested on a murder charge Sunday.

On Monday, the Butler County Coroner's Office announced her autopsy concluded she died from blunt force trauma to her head.

Fairfield police have not released further details of the offense or responded to requests for comment.
