FRANKLIN, OH (FOX19) -

A mother faces several charges after police say she overdosed on drugs in her car with her 8-month-old son inside and then drove off while under the influence.

Jessica Bowling, 26, of Miamisburg, is suspected of taking Oxycodone before passing out in her running, four-door, 2000 Buick at the Speedway gas station on East Second Street  just before 5 p.m. Sunday, police said.

A witness thought she was sleeping at first. Then, Bowling appeared to wake up and drove off.

Another motorist who also saw her infant son in the vehicle grew concerned, followed her and called police until officers could respond.

They pulled her over on Thomas Drive.

Bowling refused to take breath and blood tests to measure her level of intoxication, according to police.

She faces a felony charge of drug abuse and one misdemeanor count each of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, refusing to take an OVI test and child endangering.

Bowling is held without bond at the Warren County jail and scheduled to appear Tuesday in Franklin Municipal Court.

The baby's grandmother is caring for him.
