Recipe: Vietnamese rice pudding from Cilantro

Cilantro's owner Darren Phan didn't live a luxurious food life when growing up, which is why he believes in eating well and fresh food that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

This simple Vietnamese rice pudding is healthy and simple to make.

Chao Ga Recipe:

Ingredients:

Cup of rice (jasmine) rice

12 cups water

6 chicken quarters

4 teaspoon salt

Fresh cilantro

Green onion

White onion

Black pepper

Nouc mam

Directions

Wash rice

Wash chicken

Add chicken to the pot

Add 12 cups of water

4 tsp of salt

1 sm onion

Cook chicken for 30 min

Skimming and removing the chicken fat from broth

After 30mins remove chicken and let cool to be shredded later

Add washed rice to chicken broth

Bring to boil 5min

Continue to stir rice

After 5min cover pot and remove from heat

Let the rice continue to cook for 45min

Shred chicken

Chop cilantro and green onions

When ready to eat, bring porridge to simmer

Pour into bowl and add chicken and top with cilantro and green onions ,

Black pepper to taste and tsp of nouc mam
