Excessive speed and alcohol are factors in a crash that killed a 27-year-old man died in a single-vehicle accident late Tuesday, police said.
Douglas J. Smith of Cincinnati was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident on Shepherd Avenue just north of East Wyoming Avenue about 10:15 p.m.
His vehicle struck a utility pole, which snapped in half.
