The mother accused of injecting feces into her young son's IV bag rejected a plea deal Wednesday.

Candida Fluty, 35, is heading to trial on charges of felonious assault and endangering children.

A trial date is expected to be scheduled soon.

The West Virginia resident is free on bond, although a judge briefly issued a bench warrant for her arrest earlier this year when she failed to appear in court.

Her son, 9, and two other children are staying with family members in West Virginia.

The woman was caught on surveillance camera injecting the bodily fluid into her son's IV at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, prosecutors have said.

The boy has spent most of his life in and out of hospitals struggling with a disease called Hirschprung's that affects the colon, her relatives have said.

Prosecutors say his condition may have been exaggerated or intensified by his own mother suffering from a mental disorder called Munchausen by proxy.
