WINTON HILLS, OH (FOX19) -

A 16-year-old boy shot in the stomach on Craft Street late Monday is clinging to life, Cincinnati police said early Tuesday.

The teen was found shot about 9:40 p.m. on Craft Street near Winneste Avenue. Officers investigated through the night, but it remains unclear what prompted the incident, said Lt. Tim Brown, the night chief.

"We have no idea what led up to it or what happened," the lieutenant said. "He's in critical condition. He' still in surgery, last I heard, and we are still awaiting word whether he will survive or not."

In an unrelated shooting overnight, a 23-year-old man was struck in the right buttocks about 1 a.m. on Beekman Street near Millvale Court in Millvale.

The victim, who is not cooperating, told police he was walking down the street when a man got out of a car, punched him in the face and then shot him for no apparent reason.

The man is expected to recover.

No arrests were made in either case.
