OK, first things first. I have a very German last name but unfortunately don't speak the language. A long time before I came along someone in my family decided they liked the way Gee-zin-slaw sounded. So Gee-zin-slaw it is - although I'll answer to just about any variation of that. I like it because it's different.
I grew up in a small town in Central Texas and Cameron is exactly what you think it is - great high school football and wonderful people. If you ever catch the show "Friday Night Lights", (which unfortunately airs on another network) it's dead-on. Dillon is my hometown.
Had a great time in college at Baylor University and stayed around Waco for my first few TV jobs. After that I went to Dallas to help launch Texas Cable News.
Couldn't leave the Lone Star State for anything short of a great sports town and that's what we've found here. We love it.
Three little Giesenschlags occupy most of my time when I'm not at work - two boys and a girl. All three have hair.
Happily married, my wife loved sports before she loved me. That helps. We're out and about as much as possible and would love to say hello. If not, drop me a note at bgiesenschlag@fox19.com.
