SPRINGFIELD TWP, OH (FOX19) -
A 30 year-old man was shot in the shoulder and arm in a home invasion robbery on Lincoln Avenue off Pippin Road Tuesday morning.
Lamar Flagg was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Springfield Township police said he will recover.
Flagg told police he found three men ransacking his home when he returned about 9:30 a.m.
They shot him, ran out and remain at large. The gunshots were heard by a nearby maintenance man.
"I heard somebody yelling help, help me," said Steve, the maintenance man who asked to not release his last name. "What's going on now out there? Help, help."
Police say Flagg managed to walk about 100 feet to the parking lot where he collapsed, but he still managed to call 911.
"Somebody just walked up here and shot me," Flagg told a 911 dispatcher. "I walked back in my house and somebody just shot me. Please her here."
Investigators said it is unclear why the intruders targeted Flagg's residence. One of Lamar's neighbors said she has grown accustomed to the sound of gunfire in the neighborhood.
"I'm used to it. Gunshots are like doorbells," said Flagg's neighbor, who wished to stay anonymous. "I'm concerned because I do have a six-year-old child here that plays in each one of these parking lots."
