Post a photo of your bare feet to Instagram and a pair of shoes will be donated to a child in need.
It's part of a movement behind the “One Day without Shoes” campaign by Toms – the footwear brand known for its buy a pair, give a pair philosophy.
Now through May 21, the company is making it possible to donate shoes without actually purchasing a pair of Toms. A donation will be made for each barefoot Instagram with the hashtag #withoutshoes.
It's the eight year for “One Day without Shoes,” which asks people to go shoe-less to raise awareness of the impact a pair of shoes can have on a child's life.
"This year's One Day Without Shoes will be different than any we've ever done," said Toms founder Mycoskie. "We're extending the timeframe to build awareness and anticipation, but most importantly, so that more people can participate in an effort to give more. The best part is that even if someone is not a TOMS customer, he or she can simply take a photo and post #withoutshoes to make sure a child in need somewhere in the world will get a new pair."
The #WithoutShoes campaign is good for up to 1 million posts, with a limit of one post per person.
