KENTON COUNTY, KY (FOX19) - Bond was set at $100,000 Friday for a fleeing suspect accused of assaulting a police officer, sparking a manhunt.

Marquez Moore, 23, is held at the Kenton County Jail on charges of assault, resisting arrest, fleeing and providing a false name to officers.

Kenton County police said Moore refused to comply with an officer's requests once he was pulled over and exited his vehicle on Madison Pike near Pleasure Isle Drive in the Erlanger/Covington area around 11 a.m. Thursday.

Moore, who is on parole for burglary, fled by jumping off the overpass.

Police ran after him, eventually catching up to him by a creed bed. With the assistance of a bystander, police caught Moore by the legs as he climbed into the steep creek bed.

Moore kicked the officer in the chest and face and escaped. The officer was not hurt.

Meanwhile, police from several agencies in Kenton County, including three K-9 officers, swarmed the area to join the search. The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office helicopter also swooped through the air.

Erlanger police arrested Moore several hours later at 7:30 p.m. after receiving calls of a suspicious person walking around Robby Court, which is close to the area where he was pulled over.

Police found the man walking through the back yards of Ashridge Court.  He initially provided a false name but eventually confessed his true identity. Moore was arrested without further incident.
