Super Bowl-Cereal Auction

Eagles "omen" in cereal bowl nets $760 in online auction

A Pennsylvania woman will collect 760 dollars for a bowl of cereal with an image resembling the Philadelphia Eagles' logo that she auctioned on e-Bay. Caryl Ludwig says that the image formed out of green Apple Jacks pieces in her daughter's green breakfast bowl. Ludwig says the bowl once belonged to her grandfather, who was a lifelong Eagles fan, and she suggests it could bring good luck to the Eagles in Sunday's Super Bowl. She photographed the image of the cereal and bowl and auctioned off the contents, minus the milk. The winner of the auction was Ralph Garman of Los Angeles. Garman, an actor and a morning radio show host, summoned friends to contribute to the bid.
