Services will be Monday and Tuesday for a 42-year-old Cincinnati police sergeant who died suddenly last week.
Visitation for Sgt. Daniel McShane is 4-8 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Glen Este, 1034 Old State Route 74, Batavia. A Fraternal Order of Police service will follow at 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be private.
Sgt. McShane died sometime in the night Thursday from natural causes, but the exact cause has not yet been released. said a police spokeswoman said Monday.
He was hired by Cincinnati police in January 1999 and was in the 87th recruit class.
Upon graduation, he began work in District 1 and moved to District 4 in 2001. He was promoted to sergeant in 2005 and then transferred to District 5.
In May of 2009 he was transferred from District 3 to District 4, where he worked until his death.
