CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A 36-year-old man accused of killing his girlfriend earlier this year faces a judge Monday.

Antonio Colson was indicted earlier this year with attempted murder of Brittany Coop, 30, two counts of felonious assault and illegally having a handgun.

The charges were upgraded to murder after she died in late February.

According to court records, Colson shot her in the neck and chest several times inside her Maryland Avenue home in East Price Hill Feb. 11. He fled the scene, but police apprehended him a short time later.

Coop was critically injured and died two weeks later.

Colson has remained at the county jail in lieu of $1.2 million bond since February.

Hamilton County Judge Steven Martin is scheduled to accept a plea in the case or schedule it for trial.
