OVER THE RHINE, OH (FOX19) -

Two men were shot less than three hours apart in this Cincinnati neighborhood just north of Downtown early Tuesday.

Cincinnati police responded to reports of a shooting near Findlay Market on West 12th and Race streets just before 5 a.m.

When they arrived, they found a man in his early 20s who appeared to have just been shot at but not hit, said Lt. Tim Brown, the night chief.

But, as officers continued talking to the victim, he began to bleed from his buttocks. He was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

The victim told officers three people chased after him, firing. He ran to a Metro bus stop.

"He ran to the bus. They stopped chasing him. So he got on the bus and got off at the next stop and that's when the cops were involved," Brown said.

At the time, 8-12 people were on the bus.

Three suspects - two men and a woman all in their 20s - remain at large.

Police had just cleared a shooting scene nearby.

A 40-year-old man was shot in the groin about 2 a.m. on McMicken Avenue at Vine Street. The bullet exited his body through his buttocks.

He was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he is expected to recover.

The man told police he walked out of his house and a passing car started shooting at him.

The vehicle sped off. No arrests were made.

Both incidents remain under investigation and could be connected.

The shootings come just weeks after two men were fatally shot in separate incidents in Over-the-Rhine less than a week apart.
