Teen Murder Conviction

A 15-year-old boy was found guilty of murder today in Cincinnati. David Harris had been tried on charges that he killed and robbed two men in separate shootings that occurred four days apart last May.

A jury in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court deliberated for two days before finding Harris guilty of one of the slayings, but innocent of the other. Harris was 14 at the time of the shootings. He will remain in custody and could receive a maximum prison term of 28 years to life when he is sentenced on February 22nd.

Prosecutors said they knew of no other case in Hamilton County in which someone as young as Harris had been tried on murder charges. The trial had to be postponed in December after nine witnesses failed to show up in court.
