SPARTA, KY (FOX19) -

A Kentucky trooper's good deed isn't going unnoticed after a random stranger posted his act of kindness on social media.

Katlyn Starks was pumping gas near the Kentucky Speedway when she overheard an exchange between a stranded driver and trooper on Saturday. The woman had an empty tank of gas and no way to get home with two children in the car, Starks' Facebook post recounts.

“What the cop did next left me speechless and lit my heart up,” wrote Starks. “He finished getting his gas, walked over to her car and paid for her gas! Not only was he so generous to pay for her gas he even pumped it for her!”

Starks posted the story and three photos of the unidentified trooper to Facebook on Monday. It has since been shared upwards of 10,000 times with 24,000 ‘likes.'

“It gives me joy to be able to share these photos to show that there ARE alot of great men and women out there in uniform that do their job simply because they love it,” wrote Starks.

Hundreds of people have commented to the post with praise and thanks for the trooper.
