FOX19 -

A photo of a college professor holding a baby is going viral and the story behind it is warming hearts across the internet.

A student at Jerusalem's Hebrew University had to bring her toddler to class when she couldn't find a sitter. The mother started to leave the organizational behavior class after her child grew fussy, but the Professor Sydney Engelberg came to the rescue.

Engelberg took the baby in his arms and “did not hesitate to soothe the baby himself,” reads the Facebook post of the photo. Holding the child, he continued his lecture as if nothing happened.

Professor Engelberg's daughter Sarit Fishbaine posted the photos and story to Facebook and it's been shared and commented on by thousands.

“This is a professor who truly cares about the education of his students,” one person commented on the photo.

A 45-year teaching veteran and grandfather to five allows his students to bring their babies to class and sometimes even breastfeed, Fishbaine told BuzzFeed News.
