Cincinnati police said they are arresting suspected gang members and others in a West Side crime sweep early Friday.

Officers and a SWAT team hit the streets around 7:30 a.m.  after months of investigation with Cincinnati Initiative to Reduce Violence (CIRV).

The group, a collaborative between multiple agencies and the community, began in 2007 with a goal of reducing gun violence and associated homicides in the area.

Details of the round-up are going to be discussed in a 2 p.m. press conference, a police spokeswoman said.
