WEST CHESTER, OH (FOX19) – -
Students at Endeavor Elementary got a chance to see the world Friday without even leaving West Chester.
Endeavor is the most ethnically-diverse school in the Lakota Local School District and staff members and the PTO decided to celebrate with the first annual "Hands around the World" event in the school's gymnasium.
Second through sixth-graders took part in the all-day showcase featuring 24 different countries.
Students dressed in cultural clothing and spoke their native languages. They also explored artifacts from all over the world.
Kids got a special passport to visit their friends' native countries.
High school students from Lakota East and West volunteered at each of the different tables.
The event also featured multicultural performances during lunch.
Speakers visited classrooms during the day reading books to students in different languages.
