3 injured in ambulance rollover on I-471

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, KY (FOX19) -

An ambulance flipped on Interstate 471 in Highland Heights, sending two people to the hospital.

The accident occurred at 1:13 p.m. Saturday on I-471 North, at mile marker one, just past the I-275 split in Southgate.

Officials say an Alexandria Kentucky Fire Department ambulance was transporting a patient from a medical call in Alexandria to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Fort Thomas. The ambulance rolled over during the transport. 

Three people inside the ambulance were injured, two were transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Fort Thomas with non-life threatening injuries. 

The Southgate Police Department is investigating the crash. 

No other vehicles were damaged.
