Judge to shooting suspect: "You are the epitome of problems"

OVER THE RHINE, OH (FOX19) -

Bond was set at $160,0000 Thursday for the accused gunman in a shooting outside Club Glitter.

"You are the epitome of problems in our community," Hamilton County Municipal Court Judge Melissa Powers told Antonio Felton during his brief hearing.

The 27-year-old man faces several charges in connection with the critical injury shooting of a patron outside the Over-the-Rhine nightclub early Wednesday.

He is held at the jail on charges of felonious assault, possession of drugs and falsification.

Cincinnati police stopped him on Sycamore Street shortly after the 2 a.m. shooting outside the East 12th Street club.

They found heroin in his pocket and say he gave a false identity in an attempt to avoid arrest, court records show.

The shooting was one of three in just four hours overnight. Felton is accused of firing at least one bullet at the victim.

The 45-year-old man is in critical condition. .

Less than two hours earlier, a 21-year-old man showed up via private vehicle at Good Samaritan Hospital with a gunshot wound to his left leg. The man suffered a broken femur but is expected to recover.

He told authorities he was shot in Westwood about 12:30 a.m.

Late Tuesday, a 18-year-old man was shot in the buttocks on Reading Road near Rodgers Place. He also is expected to recover.

But his panicked grandmother ran out of the house to go to him and was followed, unbeknownst to her, by her other grandson, 2. 

A passing private ambulance responding to another emergency scene struck the toddler about 10 p.m.

The boy went to Cincinnati Children's Hospital, where he was treated for a broken nose and other fractured bones. He is expected to recover, Brown said.

Cincinnati's traffic unit is investigating the accident.
