Authorities say six exotic birds stolen from the Newport Aquarium in Kentucky were recovered yesterday from a home in Warren County, northeast of Cincinnati. The six lorikeets -- which are indigenous to Australia and Southeast Asia -- were found at the home of a Deerfield Township couple after police had confronted them outside an exotic-bird show in the Cincinnati suburb of Sharonville. The names of the couple are being withheld pending charges. Aquarium spokeswoman Jill Isaacs says the birds appear to be fine. But she says they'll be quarantined at the aquarium for about 45 days to make sure that they are OK. Two visitors smuggled the birds out of the aquarium's Rain Forest Exhibit Friday afternoon. Newport police say a surveillance video identified the suspects and their vehicle leaving the aquarium.
