The perfect dry rub recipe and tips

Jack Binions Steak Room Chef Jason Hebert says he tweaked his rub recipe several times before getting it just right. 

A good rub is all about the ratio of spices you have. You want to make sure you pick a flavor profile and then go after spices that make sense, says Hebert. For example if you're doing a Cajun rub, you want to make sure you include cayenne pepper

Here's the recipe for Jack Binions' signature rub that goes on their prime rib:

1/4 cup Kosher Salt

2 TBS 6 Pepper Blend

1/4 cup Paprika

1/2 cup Granular Garlic

2 TBS Granular Onion

1/4 cup Dry Thyme

1/4 cup Dry Oregano

2 TBSP Pepper (Course Ground)
