ODE dismisses allegations against Lakota West band director

WEST CHESTER, OH (FOX19) - More than a year after the Lakota School Board issued its "letter of reprimand and suspension" to band director Greg Snyder, the Ohio Department of Education has dismissed the allegations without any further investigation.

Snyder stepped down after being accused of ethics violations including running a non-school sanctioned band clinic, accepting money from the band boosters without reporting it, providing private lessons without permission and giving extra credit for students who took those lessons.

A letter from the Ohio Department of Education says Snyder is "in good standing with and have never been subject to disciplinary action by the State Board of Education while licensed as an Ohio educator."

Snyder's attorney says the letter shows it was obvious to the department that there was no wrong doing.
