The widow of slain Bardstown Police Officer Jason Ellis pleas for information about her husband's unsolved murder in a new video released by Kentucky State Police.

“Do not hide in the dark shadows any longer. Have the courage to help end this horror and show that justice can prevail,” Amy Ellis says in the nearly two minute video uploaded to YouTube on Thursday.

KSP made the video in hopes it would provide fresh leads two years after Ellis was gunned down on the Bluegrass Parkway.

The Glen Este High School graduate and father of two was shot multiple times as he cleared debris from an exit ramp on May 25, 2013. No arrests have been made and KSP have indicated the murder was premeditated.

“Even the smallest detail could be the information we need to make an arrest in this case.,” said KSP Public Affairs Officer Trooper Jeff Gregory. “More importantly, we want to provide the Ellis family with closure in their lives.”

KSP plans to utilize social media to blast the new video nationwide.

“We remain here with the emptiness of our heartbreak. The crime is still unsolved, But someone, somewhere can come forward,” says Amy.

The public can submit tips by contacting the KSP Elizabethtown Post at (270) 766-5078 or call the toll-free KSP Tip Line at (800) 222-5555. An email address has also been established for tips at EllisCaseETips@ky.gov.
