CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

A 14-year-old girl has been attempting to work her way into the Guinness Book of World Records. She wants to wakeboard across all 50 states and also raise awareness for a special cause.

Meghan Dolliff combines all three of her passions for one special cause, to help her sister.

She is wake surfing to raise money and awareness for the Special Olympics and her sister is motivation.

"My sister has apraxia of speech and intellectual disabilities,” said Meghan.

Madison is Meghan's older sister, but because of the disabilities it doesn't always feel that way for Meghan.

"If I take my sister and a friend to a beach, I'm not the annoying little sister tagging along,” said Meghan. “I'm more like the older sister watching over them.”

This is not a surprise to Meghan's father Douglas.

"She's always been real big in her sisters life, always helping her out at every opportunity,” said Douglas.

Watching over her and others who share similar disabilities, Meghan hopped in the water and began to wake-surf the Ohio River.

Meghan's father Douglas is happy to see his daughter bring awareness to children who sometimes can't speak for themselves.

"You see the smiles on these kids when they compete in special Olympic events,” said Douglas. “I encourage everyone to go out and see an event. It's just truly inspiring."

Meghan plans to complete her 50 state wake-boarding challenge on Father's Day with her dad right by her side.
