A 39-year-old woman was resuscitated after suffering critical injuries in a residential fire on Gobel Avenue off Westwood Northern Boulevard early Wednesday.
The woman was found not breathing in a bedroom about 6:30 a.m., said Sgt. Mike Miller of Cincinnati police's homicide unit.
She was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center and resuscitated, said Jennifer Spieser, a fire department spokeswoman.
Miller announced live on FOX19 NOW Morning News the woman had died, but she remains alive.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, Miller said.
Two other people were home when the blaze broke out.
Arson investigators are on scene.
