Four Reds make top five at their position in first All-Star Game voting update


With the 86th All-Star Game approaching rapidly in Cincinnati, four Reds have been voted top five at their position after the first round of voting.

Todd Frazier, who leads the Reds with 14 homers through 46 games, ranks third among all third baseman in the National League with 424, 035 votes. Frazier trails the Cubs' Kris Bryant and the Cardinals' Matt Carpenter, who owns the second most votes in the NL with a tally of 1,113,060.

Second baseman Brandon Phillips and shortstop Zack Cozart are both ranked fourth in their respective positions. Joey Votto is fifth among first baseman behind the Cardinals' Matt Adams.

Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper leads all National League players in voting for the 86th All-Star Game after the first voting update. Harper is tied for the Major League lead with 17 home runs. He also has 42 RBI and 40 runs scored. Other outfielders leading the way include the Cardinals' Matt Holliday and the Marlins' Giancarlo Stanton.

The 86th All-Star Game is Tuesday, July 14th at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati. Online voting totals for this year's game are up 100 percent in comparison to 2014.
