INDIAN HILL, OH (FOX19) -

A local community is attempting to crack down on owner's not cleaning up dog poop.

Indian Hill residents could soon be slapped with a fine and a misdemeanor charge if they don't clean up after their dog.

A proposed change to an ordinance - makes the offense a fourth-degree misdemeanor with a max fine of $250.

"I always have a bag with me. At least 4 cause I have 4 dogs. I think it's important that people clean up after the dogs. It's unfair to everyone else to walk around dog poop," said Pamlia Grafe.

The new dog poop ordinance could be voted on in August.
