Two sisters facing charges after police find elderly mother living in deplorable conditions

KENTON COUNTY, KY (FOX19) -

Two women facing are felony charges after being accused of letting their elderly mother live in deplorable conditions.

A Kenton County Grand Jury indicting Connie and Christina Kurtz, who according to the commonwealth attorney's office neglected their mother - a woman over 90 years old suffering from dementia and other health problems.

The victim has now been placed in custody of Kentucky's adult protective services.

According to Kenton County prosecutor Rob Sanders, both of the Kurtz sisters are charged with knowing abuse or neglect of an adult by caretaker. Connie is also charged with knowing exploitation of an adult by caretaker for allegedly using the victim's assets as her own.

The two could face five to ten years in prison.
