Police say drugs were found under the seat of a 2-year-old child after a man took off from police following a routine traffic stop in Fairfax Friday.
According to court records, the chase reached speeds over 70 mph and ended when the driver crossed over a double yellow line in a blind curve, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree that ended over an embankment off of Red Bank Road near Wooster Pike at around 8 p.m.
The driver, Tamon Seldon, 24, of Forest Park, was arrested and placed in the Hamilton County Justice Center Friday night. He was charged with two counts of endangering children, failure to comply, trafficking in drugs, failure to control and window tint violations.
Court records say that police found a baggie with a gray substance under the 2-year-old child's car seat that tested positive for heroin.
Officials say when asked what the baggie was, Seldon said heroin. Police also recovered $400 with a clear plastic bag with a corner torn off which is normally used to package drugs for sale.
