Registration open for All-Star 5K Color Run

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - One of the biggest attractions of All-Star week is the 5K Color Run.

Thousands of people will be participating in the July 11 event.

Registration for the race is now open.

The 5K is part of this year's Shine Tour.  Here's how it works, it's an un-timed race where runners start dressed in white and end the race covered

from head to toe in different colors.  You can enter individually or as a team.

The race will also be helping people in the Tri-State.  This year, the All-Star 5K is partnering with the Tri-State Bleeding Disorder Foundation, an

organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children and families living with bleeding disorders.

The MLB is focused on helping charities and organizations in every All-Star game host city.  In 2014, the MLB donated 8.6 million to local and

national charities in Minnesota.  Since 1997, the MLB has donated more than 65 million to different organizations.

As one of this year's partner, the Tri-State Bleeding Disorder Foundation says donations will help fund their programs and services, and give

people a better quality of life.

The race begins at 9 a.m. at Sawyer Point along the Ohio River Downtown with waves going every few minutes until 10 a.m.

It's billed as the happiest race in the world, kicking off with a pre-race party.
